     London Theatre Tickets » List of London Theatres » Theatre Royal Stratford East Theatre Royal Stratford EastThe Theatre Royal Stratford East is one of the few remaining Victorian theatres in London, situated in East of London and still on its original site. The first theatre opened its doors In 1884 and became well known for its Melodramas right up to the advent of the talking moving pictures, which drew the crowds temporarily away. The Theatre Royal was reborn with the management of Joan Littlewoods Theatre Workshop Company and from 1953 the theatre never looked back and is still packing them in Stratford.
