Palace TheatreThe Palace Theatre is situated at the end of Shaftesbury Avenue overlooking Cambridge Circus and was originally opened in 1891 as the Royal English Opera House. This was soon changed to The Palace Theatre of Varieties a year later, after its failure to attract sufficient operatic audiences, and soon became a major venue for music and drama. The Palace Theatre was, for several decades, more of a gentleman's club, but during the thirties its theatrical prowess becomes its mainstay for its audiences, and perhaps is best known for its longest running production of 'Les Miserables' which ended in 2004. The Palace Theatre is still a leading venue in London's West End Theatres. ![]() Showing: Priscilla - Queen of the Desert Palace Theatre | Performances | Information | Directions | History |
