     London Theatre Tickets » List of London Theatres » London Coliseum London ColiseumThe London Coliseum was constructed in 1904 and was originally intended as a huge scale Variety venue. Unfortunately this was short lived and, after only 2 years, this grand scale innovative Theatre was forced to close. Its reopening saw its fortunes change dramatically as the Coliseum became host to the first annual Chrsitmas Pantomimes and large scale post war productions such as 'Annie Get Your Gun', 'Guys and Dolls', 'Kiss Me Kate' and 'The Pyjama Game'. Once acquired by MGM it was converted into a Cinema until it was acquired by the English National Opera Company, and now the venue for the national company is in a newly restored London Coliseum Theatre.
