     London Theatre Tickets » List of London Theatres » Garrick Theatre Garrick TheatreThe Garrick Theatre is situated on the Charring Cross Road as it leads up from Trafalgar Square and sits opposite the entrance to Leicester Square. Originally constructed in 1889 and named after the famous Actor, Dramatist and Poet David Garrick, its construction was hampered by the necessary deep excavations to make the Dress Circle level with the street, as it was discovered that an ancient Roman River ran right across the site. Finally, overcoming such problems, the Garrick Theatre is a Victorian feat of construction with its elegant stone façade. The Garrick Theatre has been synonymous with Comedy Dramas and Comedy productions such as 'No Sex Please, We're British' and 'An Inspector Calls'.
