     London Theatre Tickets » List of London Theatres » Duke of York's Theatre Duke of York's TheatreThe Duke of York's Theatre is situated on St.Martin's Lane and first opened its doors over a hundred years ago in 1892. It was originally called the Trafalgar Theatre, but soon changed its name to the Duke of York's Theatre in 1895. Once described as a pretty little theatre the Duke of York was bright and colourful in its tints of gold, yellow and cream. Several refurbishments later and several changes in ownership the Duke of York's Theatre changed its name again for 4 years during extensive renovations, to the Royal Court Theatre Downstairs, whilst all productions were transferred to the Royal Court Theatre.
