Billy Elliot - The Story

Billy Elliot the Musical is an unlikely story of a boy born and bred in the north of England who has a secret gift despite the normal expected aspirations of becoming a miner or getting involved in sport such as boxing.

Billy Elliot was born in a northern town and was brought up by his single father without the presence of a mother's feminine touch. Despite this lack of female influence, Billy is excited by the wonder of dance, in particular the wonder of ballet. Billy can't think of anything else and his passion grows to an obsession to become a ballet dancer himself. Despite his surroundings and working class upbringing, Billy Elliot was determined to make it.
